We are renowned for producing themed dance parties, circus spectacles, and performance-fueled theater shows. In addition to our in-house programming, we offer our space for private events, fundraisers and community activities. Each night is specially curated to present a fusion of music, visual art, theatrics and interactive elements.

Job Overview 

The Bar Manager is a part time yet critical role. They report to the House of Yes Owners and General Manager and are responsible for the operational and financial oversight of the bar as well as beverage sponsorships and partnerships. The Bar Manager has a devotional commitment to customer service and the guest experience that is expressed with the utmost patience, sincerity, respect and professionalism. This role is best suited for someone who has a natural affinity to the Hospitality and Nightlife industry and are not only comfortable recruiting partnerships that align with House of Yes, but are excited to do so. They are a forward thinker with a solution-focused approach, and work alongside the GM to lead the House of Yes staff with a mature and focused attitude. This role has opportunities for growth into offsite events and festivals produced by House of Yes.

Requirements 

  • 21+

  • Must be legally able to work in the USA

  • 3+ years experience in the Nightlife/Hospitality Industry

  • 1+ years experience in Sponsorship/Partnerships

  • Must be able to comfortably lift 50 pounds

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

  • Comfortable in group settings and leading meetings/conversations with confidence

  • Strong attention to detail and highly accurate

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Food Handler’s Certificate

  • FDNY F03 / F04 Certificate of Fitness

    • If you currently do not have this certificate, you must be receive this certificate within one month of beginning work at House of Yes

Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)

  • Scheduling

    • Build and manage weekly staff schedules based on business levels

  • Ordering & Inventory

    • Oversee all beverage and supply ordering

    • Maintain accurate, weekly inventory counts

    • Monitor usage trends and prevent waste, loss, or over-ordering

  • Cost Control and Management

    • Track and report weekly beverage cost vs. sales

    • Identify and correct over-pouring, complimentary beverages, and/or shrinkage immediately

    • Maintain strong margins while ensuring optimal guest experience

    • Beverage cost (i.e. pour cost) oversight

  • Beverage Sponsorships & Partnerships

    • Actively research, reach out to, and develop relationship(s) with potential sponsors that are aligned with the House of Yes ethos and mission

    • Negotiate with potential sponsors from inception to contractual finalization

    • Create all contracts in alignment with House of Yes protocol and proofread for any edits and/or updates

    • Attends necessary walk throughs, client calls, and weekly meetings

    • Ensure that all contractual obligations of sponsorships and partnerships are executed from start to finish and all financials are received and processed on time

  • Team Support

    • Uphold service standards and bar organization; support team training and accountability

    • Assist in Dept of Health compliance and ongoing supervision of cleanliness

Hours and Expectations 

  • Position type: W2; part time

  • Pay rate: $25.00 per hour (beginning pay rate) plus commission structure

  • Work location: Primarily onsite, with remote WFH time possible on selects days (negotiable)

  • Meeting participation: In-person attendance required as needed

  • Night time and weekend availability required, particularly during peak seasons such as Pride, Halloween, and NYE

Reporting Structure 

Reports to House of Yes Owners and General Manager.

Work Environment 

Fast-paced nightlife venue with high volume of events. Requires coordination across multiple departments including Front of House, Operations, and Accounting.
