One lady will dance till her clothes are all gone!
Another will spin at high speeds on a corde,
It’s best thing in Brooklyn if not in the World!
There’s even a fiddle, played upside down

It’s death defying and always high flying
And just 10 bucks so stop all yer whining!
Please don’t be late and bring your own wine,
Doors are at 8 and show starts at 9!

This is your last weekend to see Caligula Maximus at LaMaMa Theatre for only $10! Most people pay $30, but because you are awesome, you pay less. This show is freaking crazy, and “crazy” is kinda our forte. Caligula Maximus is Circus meets Musical, Brooklyn meets Rome…. on Broadway, well off-Broadway, but close enough. The writers/director/producers Alfred Preisser and Randy Weiner realize that something like this is impossible to attempt without heavily relying on an underground community like ours. So they’re hooking up everyone who’s a friend of ours with 10 dollar tickets because hey, thats what you guys usually pay to see some top notch lawless and out of control spectacle.
Featuring founding member of the House of Yes…. Anya Sapozhnikova!

Your secret pasword is THOY. type that in when you get your ticket,
and you’re good to go.

Caligula Maximus takes place on the last night of the notorious dictator’s life. Caligula, sensing the encroachment of monotheistic religions, holds a phantasmagoric revival meeting in which he attempts to save the world by ushering in a new religion with himself as its principle prophet and god. Caligula’s “senate” is an outrageous collection of circus performers, wrestlers, animals, show girls, body builders and freaks who enact his spectacles and indulge his whims and fantasies. This show contains pretty much every single theatrical element imaginable from stage combat to circus to huge dance numbers.
