Gypsies vs. Cowboys vs. Hobos
After months of trying to be good (we installed a 7 foot tall cross right over the stage for the whole month of Jesus’s birthday) and not throw any parties ever, we’re somehow (yet again!) hosting an event that encourages stealing and illegal immigration on Friday and then glorifying the all-American outlaw lifestyle on Sunday.
:::::::::::Friday, January 8th:::::::::::
Thunder Gumbo III: Steal This Party
Much to their surprise the first thing the Thunder Gumbo crew saw in their intergalactic journey were a crew of Santa Clauses in the heart of ancient Babylon. However, they soon realized that the bunch of jolly drunk bastards speaking german in red suits knew of a way to steal 200 million dollars from an evil government of the future……
Finally the gumbers could afford to hold a performance contest to see who was the greatest criminal in the history of the universe. The winner of the contest would get to steal the party!
Consider The Source
From Eastern-European folk melodies and Indian rhythmic cycles to funky rock riffs and break beat drum & bass, audiences can’t decide whether to mosh, rave or belly dance.

Mickey Western: The American Way :: RE-BOOT EXTRAVAGANZA
You’ve seen them play tinfoil covered art galleries, Western-themed circus shows, 8 hour-long Halloween sets, and blizzards all over this great land. Three weeks ago, on the eve of the greatest storm of the decade, the Mickey Western Band released their newest creation: The American Way. Despite historically low attendance at shopping centers and for the opening of “Avatar”, hundreds came out for the Mickey Western Band-Wagon. Some people couldn’t get in, and a few even got frostbite. For those folks, and you, the Mickey Western Band is pleased to bring a CD re-release party. Three months in the making, the album will be re-presented live, in its entirety, for one night only in the place it was recorded: The House of Yes. Featuring crazed country rave-ups, rocking odes to gambling and murder, plaintive ballads, and a steely, hard look back at How The West Was Won, you owe it to yourself to join in its re-celebration. With re-acrobatics and
re-hijinks by Lady Circus and the House of Yes, re-screenings of original motion pictures (starring members of the Mickey Western Band!) by CineGenius, re-projections and re-spectaculars by the Junkman, and a re-propaganda table by the Chelsea Gonzo.
All who attend will receive their very own copy of The American Way.
7:30p doors, 8 show; $10 entry includes a complimentary CD. Yes re-entry.
