Aja Monet, word-sorceress and every-day rock-star, is leaving us for Chicago- but she’s leaving us with a hip-hop/spoken word/mash-up party that we will never forget. We still remember her original throw-down at the original House of Yes, back in August 2007, and people are still talking about it. Dont just hear about it. Be here.

Night School: Beginning Pantomime with Jeff Seal!

August 25th

$5-15 sliding scale donation.

This class will give you the basics of “pantomime blanche” or white-faced illusion-based mime. Students will learn exercises involving fixed-point, isolation, resistance and the other building blocks of pantomime and physical acting in general. These skills can help a performer more effectively communicate his/her ideas and emotions with an audience through clear and precise physical articulation. They are useful for any performer from an improviser to an aerialist.

Sex-Ed:

Night School: “This Ain’t Your High School Sex Ed Class”

August 26th

9-11:30pm

Four sexy New York City women will answer the questions that weren’t in your textbooks like:

1) To bite or not to bite
2) How to get in the back door
3) Why oral is a must and why you are not doing it right (even if you think you are…)
4) The fine art of flirtation
5) … and lots more to come

In addition, there will be informative videos, exercises, and information about not just sex but dating. At the end of the class, we will answer any and all of your questions. Don’t be shy, we won’t be!

You should expect there to be an open cooler of beer, a special guest who’s not just full of hot air, and plenty of homework.

21+ only and geared toward men*. $5-25 sliding scale donation. Max 40 people.

(*Women are welcome to join us, but should know the info and perspective of the class will be for men.)

Our friends the Yes Men (http://www.theyesmen.org/) need your help NOW to pull off some large-scale shenanigans in September. It’ll be fun and stupid, and it’ll probably create a splash in the media. They are professionals at playing pranks on corporations.

Be a part of something big!

Right now in Make Fun we are constructing 20 large-scale, ridiculous costumes to be worn at events, actions and appearances.

If you have sewing or building skills, please help this super-secret-project come to life! We are working from 12pm-11pm every day except Saturday/Sunday.
